YouTube to shut down after entertaining us for eight years
YouTube recently said they are shutting down after eight years of entertainment. They have announced a competition about which is the best made best YouTube video ever. The company has brought together a panel of expert judges, prolific commentators of YouTube, and film critics. The judging panel also include Antoine Dodson (from “Antoine Dodson News Blooper) and Charlie (of “Charlie bit my Finger” fame).”
There are 30,000 experts working hard for narrowing down submissions done on YouTube which have been uploaded in past 8 years. Judges will be spending next decade for discussing the best video.
The site will be shut down tomorrow midnight and all the contents will get deleted permanently. The site will come back after 2023 and there will be just one video on this site – the one which has won. Judges said that they will take a decade for judging the best video and interested people will be able to watch first twelve hours of live stream judging from L.A office of YouTube tomorrow.
This step taken by YouTube is a bit surprising as people are bound to forget what YouTube was in 2023. Also, the popularity of the videos will not be counted while judging the videos and hence even the least popular video can win.
YouTube said that winner will get MP3 player with $500 stipend for the next project. It will be interesting to see how people react to this news. YouTube has enjoyed great success and popularity all over the world. It is one of the best video sharing sites on the Internet. People will certainly miss YouTube; however, it is very likely that readers have realized that this is an April Fool’s joke.
