Twitter Archive launched to download all tweets till date
After seeing so many changes in Facebook and other social networking sites, now Twitter seems to have geared up with changes that bring opportunities to users. Now Twitter allows users to download all tweets that they have ever posted. This is a great news for all those who dwell in Twitter for hours and want a backup of all their tweets.
Starting from Thursday, Twitter has provided access of downloading all previous tweets from first to last. Users can view and download their tweets and keep a safe backup as well.
The company in a blog post has mentioned that – Today we’re introducing the ability to download your Twitter archive so you’ll get all your tweets including retweets going back to the beginning. Once you have your Twitter archive, you can view your tweets by month, or can search your archive to find tweets with certain phrases, words, hashtags or @usernames.
As per the earlier system, users were only able to search their last 3000 tweets and remaining timeline was only made available to advertisers who pay to access the entire Twitter history. Now this has become free for all users who no more have to pay for the provided service. For downloading the tweets, users just have to visit the Twitter account, click on settings and check for the option given right at the bottom of the page for request a Twitter archive. Once requested, Twitter will send an email to the user stating the instructions on how to download the archive. Feature is still not accessible for all, but it will be made available in next few months as promised by Twitter.
