Microsoft unveiled its ‘Surface’ Tablet PC

Microsoft, the giant maker of Windows operating system has unveiled its all new and most awaiting Surface which is a tablet computer that directly challenges Apple’s iPad. The CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer has announced the all new tablet computer as said it a whole new family of devices that Microsoft is now developing for the most advanced world.

There is one version of Surface that is not planned to move for sale until fall and measures 9.3 millimetres of thickness. So, imagine how thin this device is. There is not competition yet. The best would be Widows RT operating system offered by Microsoft in this device. There will be a touch keyboard, very thin and impressive and more interesting is its availability of variety of colors. The touch keyboard gets special magnetic technology that gives good access and connectivity to the tablet. The Surface tablet computer weighs less than 680 grams and will be sold in market at same price like that of other tablet computers. The device is coincidentally set to get debuted along with the forthcoming release of most awaiting Windows 8 operating system from Microsoft.

The president of Microsoft Windows division Steven Sinofsky has called this Surface device a tablet that is a great PC, PC that is a great tablet.

As per the reports, there will be a slightly thicker version as well in the market that will measure below 14 millimetres of thickness and less than 910 grams of weight. This device will be equipped with Windows 8 Pro operating system and will be available at almost same price to that of Ultrabooks. This is what the company has announced lately. The Pro version of this device can be accessed with the help of stylus that enables the users to make notes on documents like PDF files.

Each of the tablets will be offered along with a keyboard cover that measures 3 mm thick. On the other hand, when it comes to the kickstand of both these devices, it measures 0.7 mm in thickness which is even thinner if we compare the thickness of a credit card. Software tablets are manufactured by Microsoft since 2002 where the company shipped Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. There is no confirmed news about the battery life of this device. By introducing this top-notch PC technology device, Microsoft has not only challenged Apple, but all leading tablet computer makers.
