Micromax X259 Solar powered Handset Just for Rs. 2,499

Micromax has a series of handset for the consumers ranging from low, moderate to high level. However, this seems to be something different that the manufacturer is trying to approach. It has been freshly disclosed that the manufacturer is working on its upcoming handset Micromax X259 for which requires a solar panel. In move to contribute on environment, Micromax has designed a cellphone that will run on solar power and does not require electricity for charging.

Though this is a good news for people who really want to save the environment, but more than that they have to face disappointment as Micromax X259 will give a talk time backup of up to 1.5 hours after putting it for 3 hours of constant solar charging.

Micromax X259 holds solar cells that get charged up by exposure to sunlight. The device is specifically designed for the consumers in rural areas where people mainly face power cuts and find it difficult to charge their cellphones. The phone sports a 2.4 inches of QVGA display with a screen resolution of 240 by 320 pixels. Under the hood, houses Li-ion 1000 mAh cells that power the phone after juiced up in light.

The co-founder of Micromax Rahul Sharma has said in his statement that they have been at the forefront of innovation and introduced many categories into this competitive industry right from long battery life phones to dual SIM phones. The intent behind introducing this cellphone is to offer opportunity to people who want to get rid of mobile phone charger and this is possible due to the solar panel which is integrated on this device itself.

The phone is equipped with a VGA camera that enables user to enjoy some photography sessions and includes dual SIM to use two different numbers. So, if one number is out of reach or busy, you get another option which remains active or reachable. Micromax has also loaded this phone with dual standby feature where the network flexibility increases, giving the user with complete convenience. For connectivity purposes, the manufacturer has provided Bluetooth in this device that allows the user to share content such as images, videos and other files with other person in close proximity. GPRS is the other feature that lets the user stay connected to friends and family all the time by accessing internet.

As far as the price is concerned for Micromax X259, the company has announced it to be Rs. 2,499 which is affordable for the rural consumers. Micromax is shipping this innovative handset with the help of all major stores in India.
