Lenovo, Reliance to Launch 5 Android Smartphones under INR 8,000

Lenovo is set to launch five of its average Android phones by joining hand with Reliance Communications. Reliance is yet to reveal the details in press-release, but reports from ET and PTI have indicated that both the companies are merging to launch at least four to five Android smartphones in the market in next six months.

The first smartphone that this JV has planned to launch will be priced under INR 8,000. This first handset will be available by March 2013. PTI has also claimed that each phone that the JV will launch in future will price below Rs. 8,000 and will dwell two slots for SIM cards and USB. The phones will be available at Reliance operated stores and will be available by March ending. Further stated that the phones will come with Android OS and 1GHz dual core processors.
