LCD embedded contact lenses to display information

A new technology has been developed by researchers where a contact lens will display information like text messages from a cellphone. The user will wear LCD embedded contact lenses in his eyes and the information will be displayed dramatically.

This new technology has been developed by Ghent University’s centre of microsystems technology. It is a spherical curved LCD display that is accurately embedded in contact lenses and holds projected images via wireless technology. This is not the first technology in the world. We have already have seen such technology previously, but it has some uniqueness. Earlier contact lenses were found with some small pixels, but this new tech gives access to the entire curved surface of the lens.
