iPhone 5 Display Causes Limited Productions, Reservation System Introduced

There is a shortage of iPhone 5 in the market as compared to rising demands for this exclusive smartphone. The reason behind this shortfall is the new in-cell display technology used in iPhone 5 where its predecessors used typical capacitive touch displays.

The reason behind using in-cell technology is the result of creating a thinnest phone in its range. For that, Apple had to switch from traditional capacitive touch displays to this new technology that provided unique touch panels. In earlier phones, Apple used two touch panels – LCD display and capacitive touch panel, both are combined this time to this new in-cell technology that provides thinner component. The only main concern is this new technology that is difficult to manufacture with high-quality functionality.

For this type of display, Apple chose two main suppliers – LG and Sharp, who earlier have experienced trouble in making this display. It was a challenge for the two companies to create defect-less in-cell screens that led to less productions until Apple shipped its iPhone 5s for launch. Apple sold more than 5 million iPhone 5s after its launch (between Friday and Sunday). In order to bring some effective results, Apple has introduced new reservation system that will serve its dedicated customers well and will also help score the product.

If you didn’t score an iPhone 5 in the opening weekend and cannot just wait for 3-4 weeks to get the delivery of your pre-orders then try out other ways that Apple has provided. First of all, visit at nearby Apple retail store to try your luck. Though there is limited stock, you can get as first-come, first-serve basis. If not then you have option to call wireless network operators’ stores as well as other retailers to check if there is any stock left to grab. Retailers that are available with Apple’s new product are Best Buy, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, Wal-Mart, Target, and RadioShack.

If you fail in these options and still hunt for iPhone 5 then try the new reservation system that Apple has made available for people. This is called Personal Pickup. However, this system is only available from 10 pm to 4 am between which you have to make your reservation to get this smartphone. If you are lucky enough to reserve a smartphone during those hours then you can get the new iPhone next day. So try your luck!
