Google Chrome Tablet : Will Launch in July
Gadget lovers get another reason to smile back, especially those who are Google freaks as this time Google is working on its new project, which would be called as Google Tablet. However, reports say the Google Tablet or Google Chrome Tablet would be delayed until July 2012. This is what the sources close to this project have said by mentioning that the iPad competitor will debut in July.
So, at least now we can say that Google is preparing to bring major competition to Apple product, iPad. Despite all these, enthusiasts have to wait for few more months until Google come up with its finished product for the avid users.
Reason for Delay
It has been heard that Google is delaying this project in order to cut the prices that the tablet incurs.
Manufacturers are working hard to bring this project into life. Still, you can expect the price of this tablet to be around $249 and can even go below $199. Moreover, it has also been speculated that lower price would help Google to have a tough market competition with Amazon’s Kindle Fire that sports its 7 inches of display and comes at a price tag of $199. However, Kindle Fire was sold to more than 5 million owners in the last quarter. Other than this, Barnes & Noble’s low cost device, Nook Color Tablet was also received good reputation due to the Android operating system which was priced at $169, lower than Kindle Fire and comes with same 7 inches of touchscreen display.
Google has already announced that it would be competing directly to the Apple’s iPad which is a high end device or you can even say most expensive in the market. The lowest priced iPad with 9.5 inches of screen, 16 GB memory and only Wi-Fi integration comes for $499 which is huge for many consumers who have limited budget.
See the given image to get an outlook on how the Google Chrome Tablet might Look Like.
No doubt, the tablet would be flaunting its simple yet elegant design. The screen would spread all over the size of the device which is of 7 inches. Still, the rectangular device would be getting a black border, holding the screen from all sides. Still, the Google Chrome Tablet won’t lose its worth or design appeal, especially when the Google page would appear on the screen. The tablet would boast its efficiency from inside out.
While holding the tablet in landscape view, the users would be able to type on the onscreen keyboard provided by Google for easy typing while surfing internet. There is no front facing camera to the device which is useful for video calling.
The Google Chrome Tablet would be running a powerful and latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. This latest operating system from Google would be mated to an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core processor. However, few reports have also come from media that Google is almost ready with its another Android update which is named as5.0 Jelly Bean and is said to be the successor of 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. However, it could be a fact where Google would get a best time to release its first tablet with an all new update. If this happens then the Google Chrome tablet would be the first device to run the Android’s completely new operating system.
Release Date and Further Plans
Once this tablet releases in the market, Google would move ahead of its plan to sell its flagship tablet through its own online store as stated in the report.
We would soon come up with the full review of this tablet once Google unveils it in public. Till then, feel free to share your thoughts and comments about this 7-inch Google tablet. Also, discuss about would you like to pay for this device if it becomes expensive?
