Apple ipad Mini To Start Its Production Phase: Reports
At last the rumor has turned out as reality. Now we can clearly say that Apple iPad Mini is in lineup and will launch somewhere in early next year. As per the reports, we have got to know that the mass production of a smaller and cheaper version is in process and will be segmented under Apple iPad’s line up.
This project has been handed over to an Asia-based LG Display and AU Optronics company that has already started production of LCD screens for this tablet since September as quoted by Xinhua in The Wall Street Journal.
As far as this little gadget is concerned, it will sport a screen size which is left unchanged from the 9.7-inch panel since the debut made in January 2010. The Journal also mentions that a smaller version featuring 7.85-inch of liquid crystal display with low resolution will be released. This smaller version will aim to challenge its rivals like Amazon and Google who have already launched low cost good quality tablets in the market for $200 (7-inch). In this contrast, Apple has now revealed a better version to challenge this segment for a price of around $400. This way, Apple will successfully claim its position where its competitors tried to sell tablets under the same range by challenging iPad.
So far, Apple has not yet confirmed anything about this new tablet. Google unveiled its Nexus 7 in July which is a strong competitor with advanced features. Similarly, Amazon has launched Kindle Fire and further versions such as Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HD+. According to analysts, this smaller and cheaper tablet will fulfill the dreams of many Apple lovers who will even get ready to spend $500 or more for iPad.
