Apple Announces Retina-based 13-inch MacBook Pro for $1,699
Apple is pacing up with its new devices to launch them in global market to get full attention of customers worldwide. The tech giant just can’t see other manufacturers to receive attentions from public. This is why the manufacturer has already launched its iPad mini that stands in low range segment in its class and can challenge the leading manufacturers in that segment including Google and Amazon.
This time, Apple has announced a 13-inch MacBook Pro version that flaunts its beautiful Retina Display. This version will be accompanying the 15-inch version which was introduced few months ago in June 2012. For now, this new 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro is much thinner than the previous model and measures just 0.75 inch. In fact, the ultrabook is lighter than the earlier models at 3.57 pounds. Also, the screen resolution has been tweaked to make it a fabulous and best device in the global market.
Considering the earlier model, the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display was immediately became the most advanced flagship of this tech giant’s laptop segment. And now the current 13-inch device is a bit different in this line, but mainstream consumers are still considering the Air which is a popular device in its family. Though it is hard to explain on which this new model is based on, but owners still will ask for an optical drive in the 13-inch OS X laptop.
The new Retina 13 inches of Pro will be available for $1,699 and is already set on expensive range. The price we consider to be high for its slimmer appearance, improved screen resolution and powerful Retina Display. If you feel good to buy this model then adding extra $500 will not be a big deal as this will offer you plethora of features. This new beast will feature 2560 by 1600 pixels of native resolution which is a bit less as compared to what the 15-inch Pro is offering (2880 by 1800 pixels). Both the devices are miles beyond from what the previous non Retina 13 inch Pro has offered.
We have also got to know that the Apple 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display will boast an expandable port layout just like the 15-inch version and will also carry DisplayPort jacks/Thunderbolt and an HDMI out.
The device will be available in two base versions and the pricing of both of them starts at $1,699 and $1,999. Both the devices will feature 2,560×1,600 pixels native resolution.
What is more interesting about the device is its specification. It will run on a powerful 2.5 GHz dual core Intel Core i5 processor. Well, we were though expecting i6 or i7 core, but is not a bad deal for a 13-inch laptop. With its 8GB RAM, the device will support 128GB SSD, giving over-spaces to load as much files as the user wants. Also, the performance will be supported by Intel HD Graphics 4000, making it one-of-its-kind laptop in the market.
Apart from the Retina 13-inch MacBook Pro that cost $1,699, owners can plan to buy a non-Retina Display 13-inch MacBook Pro which will be kept alongside the 15-inch Version costing $1,799. The non-Retina display version comes for a starting price of $1,199.
