A smartphone battery that lasts for weeks showcased at MWC
Now at Mobile World Congress a new smartphone with a long lasting battery has been unveiled that claims to have more than weeks of power on one charge. If this is it then it is gonna revolutionized the market where users get annoyed carrying the charger along because their smartphones drain very quickly and runs just for several hours.
This new smartphone has made headlines at the event held in Barcelona last week, a prototype of the device was unveiled. It is the efforts of researchers who developed a battery that runs for more than a week. The manufacturer of paper displays E Ink had unveiled two prototypes of phones that run on Android OS. Since Android-based smartphones drain quickly, the battery life on the prototypes as mentioned last up to a month or few weeks after normal use. This prototype could be made at lower cost under USD 200 to suit general people whose major concern is limited power supply.
As reported, the E Ink was also developing clip-on covers for renowned smartphones that would feature an E Ink screen at the back of the device. Other than this, the Russian manufacturer Yota had also displayed its dual-screen smartphone which is said to have long lasting battery life. This has been made to support the rising demands of long lasting batteries so that users can read long articles, display pictures and boarding passes, check social media updates, and much more without worrying about the phone’s battery drainage.
