EvoMouse Pet: A multitouch mouse works on any surface through finger

The 2012 seems to be very lucky where the technological advancement is sky rising. The gadget industry all over the world has become extremely alert and facing the high competition by introducing a range of products which demand complete attention. This time, we have found a newly innovative product to review on it. It is the new EvoMouse Pet, a dog-shaped device that functions differently and not like the other mouses.

EvoMouse Pet

What’s new?

The EvoMouse Pet is a device which sits at one side and gives access to the user to use any surface close to like a touchpad. Here the user will no more have to carry the mouse and move it to move the pointer on the screen. Now, the time has changed where all you have to do is to move your finger on the surface and the pointer will move accordingly. Basically, two lights emit from the device which track your finger and enables you to perform your task just like a regular mouse.

Pros :

No more holding the mouse and dragging the pointer. Just a movement of finger on the surface will make the job done. It facilitates gestures and multi-tasking functionality. You can use it for different devices including Android, BlackBerry and Windows.

Cons :

This ergonomic and innovative mouse is not rechargeable. The bottom where finger is moved makes a scrapping noise which cannot be replaced. This mouse is quite expensive.

Features :

The EvoMouse Pet offers high-functionality and out-of-the-box features. Its design and style had already lured many consumers who have also reviewed about this mouse. We have elaborated their reviews at the bottom in our words for your convenience. Also, our pros and cons will help you make a decision of whether or not it worth your money.

Celluon EvoMouse Pet

Despite the conventional mouse, the functionality of this mouse is much simpler and exciting. You don’t have to worry for the cursor control, dragging and double-clicking, and right and left clicking. This is the evoMouse developed by Celluon Company to offer to the general and business consumers an opportunity to enter in the multitouch world. This new mouse enables you to rotate and zoom on images, scrolls the text to read and is done through gestures. So, things have become more convenient. The design of this device is the shape of a dog, which is why it is named as ‘PET’.

Celluon has made this device wireless by focusing on the business requirements where you don’t have to jumble up with wire or take any kind of hassle in process. You can connect this device via either Bluetooth or USB cable. The evoMouse can be used on most of the laptops with the help of USB connection. The USB port is installed at the rear of this device and at the top is the power button. Rest, the first time users will have to learn the gestures properly before becoming perfect in using this new device. However, just like the conventional mouse, this mouse functions. For instance, tap once with your finger which indicates a click, double tapping means double clicking, next finger tapping means right click, and double finger tapping at once and dragging means scrolling the page. For more information, check out the below given video. Other than this, the two lasers coming out of this device track your fingers or pen which you use as mouse on the surface.

What’s the attraction?

What is best in this device is that it can also recognize your handwriting if you’re using your finger or pen. The manufacturer of this virtual mouse, Celluon was first launched it in the United Kingdom at a price tag of around $99. Now the question is does it worth your money? It’s not a Magic Trackpad that Apple was launched with the same gestural controls, but its features probably are of low standard than Apple. The biggest difference among both the mice (Celluon and Apple) is their performances and how actively they perform. However, we could have recommended you to go for Magic Trackpad, but unfortunately it only works on Mac, whereas; this new device functions on Mac, iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, BlackBerry, Android, and Windows. Both the lights basically follow your fingers wherever you move your hands.

Possible Use :

Celluon says that this device is ideal for those users who have carpal tunnel syndrome and experience a bit uncomfortable in pushing a physical mouse. So, the EvoMouse Pet is the best for them.

People’s view :

The evoMouse Pet failed to impress its users entirely. In fact, users have experience several flaws which make this expensive mouse an unvalued product from Celluon. Still, one good feature of this device is that it can be accessed for different devices whereas; Apple don’t offer that opportunity and only runs on Mac. Other best feature is that now you can use any flat surface as your multitouch trackpad.

However, some people have experience that the device needs a good surface to function properly. The gestures need to be used properly or else you’ll fail to successfully use it. The device is not rechargeable; another flaw. The quality of this device is also a bit low.
