Asus Zenbook UX31E Laptop Review & Price

Asus new attempt to beat the Apple and its Macbook Air range seems to be taking power as the company has launched its Asus Zenbook UX31E in the market. It features a 13.3 inches HD LED backlit display with a screen resolution of 1600×900. Besides, Intel Core i7 2677M dual core 1.8GHz processor is the one that runs this Zenbook quite effectively.

The best is the Zenbook which is a part of the Ultrabook product lineup and features a range of high end features which make it a top notch device from Asus. It offers 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 1xheadphone out and audio in combo jack, 128GB SSD drive, 1xUSB 3.0, 1xmicro HDMI, 1xUSB 2.0, 2 in 1 card reader, 1 x mini VGA, 64-bit Windows 7 Professional, and weighs at 1.3kg. This Ultrabook has been named as Zenbook after a detailed thought from Asus in views of creating and bringing something unique in the market. In fact, this Zenbook is set to give tough competition to its competitors such as Toshiba, Lenovo and Acer.

It’s an ultra-slim laptop which has largely impressed the audience. This Zenbook at first glance seems very much similar to the Apple MacBook Air as far as the design part is concerned, but is much different when we compare its specs. Its solid metal chassis and aluminium finish makes the Zenbook one of the best looking Windows laptops. From sides, the V-shaped design of the chassis seems very impressive. The thickness from the front is measured at 3mm and at rear it is measured at 9mm. Comparing the weight of this laptop with Apple’s Air, this laptop has shed 50g to defeat the 13 inches Macbook Air.

Due to thin chassis, the laptop becomes more portable. It comes with a micro HDMI port, mini VGA connector and 2 in 1 SD/MMC card reader. There is no Ethernet port just like Apple Macbook Air, but it features a Trusted Platform Module which in other words is a fingerprint reader. Some of the accessories which Asus offers with this laptop are USB to Ethernet adaptor, VGA adaptor, carrying case and a fascinating pouch for the USB accessories.

Focusing on the battery life, it is again impressive. Four hours nonstop battery life can be found while browsing the net and running applications such as Skype and Microsoft Word. Asus Zenbook UX31E Laptop price is set at £999 and with such good features; it seems cheap, £100 less than the 13-inch Macbook Air. Its great design, lightweight, Intel Core i7 performance, and instant resume times make the Asus Zenbook UX31E a good laptop to consider. Tough, the cost is more for many. The trackpad is the drawback and the major flaw is its keys which are fitted at distance from each other making the typing a little irritating.
