So, lets find out whether or not you should buy the all new Samsung Galaxy S III that is loaded with Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. We are comparing this smartphone with its competitor in the market which is HTC One X launched sometime ago.
Appearance
Both the handsets look beautiful and elegant with wide screen spread all over the front. The phones have received curvy designs and are very comfortable to access. Though we have to choose one out of two, we must say that Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC One X look beautiful in their own ways. The HTC One X has received a polycarbonate unibody that defines sleekness whereas; the Samsung Galaxy S3 has received a little curvy body that is quite a departure from its predecessor Galaxy S2. The Galaxy S3 gets bigger screen, well we also have to consider that the phone is slightly bigger in size than the HTC One X.
The S3 weighs just 133 grams, but the HTC One X weighs a bit lesser than that with just 130 grams. Thought this new flagship smartphone from Samsung has plenty of features to consider due to its latest launch, but what HTC has launched in April in India is a beautiful piece of hardware and comes with slight edge.
The crown goes to – HTC One X
Display
The size of Galaxy S3 is bigger than HTC One X and is also very comfortable in terms of appearance and handling. This smartphone sports 4.8 inches of Super AMOLED display whereas; HTC One X sports 4.7 inches of Super IPS LCD2 display with pixel density upper lead. Here the Super AMOLED display is finer than the One X in any which ways, so the judgment is clear.

Performance
Both the smartphones are equipped with several great specs. HTC One X comes with Nvidia Tegra 3 quad core processor, 1.5 GHz clock and the Samsung Galaxy S III comes with 1.4 GHz Samsung Exynos 4 quad processor that comes with Mali-400 GPU which makes the phone much stronger than what One X provides. Both the phones deliver neck-to-neck comparisons in the sunSpider JavaScript as well as BrowserMark benchmark tests, stating the performance of browser and CPU. On the other hand, some of the GLBenchmark tests have proved that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is superior to the HTC One X.

Software
As far as the design was concerned, the Galaxy S3 doesn’t bring that radical design change as well have wished to see. So, we think Samsung has better provided its full attention towards the software integration of this device. It has retained an improved TouchWiz interface along with many touch sensitivity on the screen for better user experience. These extra touch features are not provided on the HTC One X. There is also the S Beam provided in the Galaxy S3 for sharing content with other S3 phones just by tapping the back of both the phones. There includes a Pop-up play feature that enables the users to “float” running video right on the top of other applications. There is also face recognition software available in the phone for lively user experience. The software lets the device identify the pictures of your friends and also offers multiple options to send the images to the identified friends conveniently. Moreover, there is also a Smart Display that delivers Siri-like S Voice. So, there are multiple features available in Samsung’s Galaxy S III whereas; the HTC One X only provides few of the features which do not bring any uniqueness.
Little similarity can be found from HTC’s Sense User Interface, but still in this round the winner is only the Galaxy S3.

Camera
The phone is equipped with a primary camera with 8 megapixel sensor and autofocus. The camera provides great image quality. The images and video shooting comes crystal clear, more because of the integration of flash and Zero Lag Shutter BSI image sensor. This new technology enables the users to take 3.3 pictures in just one second.
On the other hand, the HTC One X has also retained an 8 megapixel primary camera that comes loaded with ImageSense chip. Well, the camera of HTC One X’s has great capability and so until we find how the picture quality of Galaxy S3 is, lets declare that the HTC One X is the winner.
The crown goes tentatively to – HTC One X
Memory
One good quality of Galaxy S3 is that it comes with a microSD card slot where the HTC One X fails to deliver. The SD support has capability to read 128 GB amount of music, pictures, movies, and other contents or documents. However, the HTC One X does not offer this great feature.
The crown goes to – Samsung Galaxy S3
Battery
Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a replaceable battery with 2,100 mAh power which is still bitter as compared to the HTC One X that sits under its hood a non-replaceable 1,800 mAh battery. So, you can make out how much backup time each one of them can deliver.

Overall Verdict
You can make out who is the final winner, but we could say that more exciting features have been added to the Galaxy S3 which talks about the advanced technologies. Well we cannot deny the fact that HTC One X is a lust-worthy smartphone. Still, there are many other features added by Samsung due to which we are bound to say that Samsung Galaxy S3 is the actual winner in this competition.
