Samsung Galaxy Note Review, Price & Specs
Samsung Galaxy Note Review – Write notes and draw designs with S Pen
Another review for Samsung and I am happy to explore the devices lined up by Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy Note possesses distinct features with 8 megapixel camera which is really good. The GT-7000 Galaxy Note is best suited to those who want better quality camera, larger touch sensitive display and a stylus which could make things easier.
Imagine that you will just draw something over the screen and your phone will respond to it. Isn’t it a great technology? You can draw anything whatever you like. This is the specialty of this phone that reduces the efforts of typing and plays a role of a tablet. Anyways, this phone is quite bigger and is comfortable as well to handle. The best part about this high-end phone is its amazing features which increases the price accordingly. Not only good specs, but its performance and Android OS simply push this smartphone to be called as amongst the recent and good technology.
The phone features a 5.3 inches HD Super AMOLED display which gives strikingly beautiful pictures. Its 1280 x 800 pixels resolution makes this smartphone much more appealing and can be compared to a full sized laptop or Galaxy Tab 10.1. This tablet-like Note can even slide into your pocket. In fact, its larger screen is a good option to replace a notepad and includes a stylus, S Pen, but never call it a stylus as Samsung has kept a good name as S Pen to it. It is longer than a stylus and is also thicker in size, just like a pen. The Samsung Galaxy Note has filled the gap between smartphone and tablet. It’s a fabulous Android handset with high resolution and pocket-friendly tablet. If you can comfortably handle this device, it would be much better, but not to worry as it has capacitive touchscreen.
The most important thing for which one can consider buying Galaxy Note is that users can take notes, make phone calls, and can even doodle between or during meetings. Rest, just a built in earpiece, mic or Bluetooth headset will make your job easier.
If you have already read, explored or used Samsung Galaxy S II then consider that the Note is just the same, especially the design which is very much similar. Apart from this, the phone measures at 146.85mm x 82.95mm x 9.65mm whereas, the GS II measured at 125.3mm x 66.1mm x 8.49mm. Other than this, this handset has also become a bit bulkier with 178 grams or 6.3 ounces than its predecessor with 116 grams or 4.09 ounces.
At the rear, you’ll find an 8 megapixel camera dramatically adorned with LED flash. It also has a secondary front facing camera with 2 megapixels. Users can even enjoy the 1080/30p HD video recording and can store multimedia files in its internal 16 GB memory storage. If you want more space, then an expandable memory of up to 32 GB can be used through a microSD card. The device also enables users to access 3.0+HS Support Bluetooth (802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi).
The phone looks strikingly beautiful with its full sized display and at the rear is entirely smooth and plan, adding elegance to the device. Those who want an AT&T network can buy this Galaxy Note mobile phone.
You’ll find an earphone grille up top above the Samsung logo and the proximity sensors are located at the right. To increase the beauty of this phone Samsung has added two navigation touch buttons below the screen at right and left and in between is a rectangular button which gives you access to the menu controls. At the top of the phone is a power button with 3.5mm headphone jack and volume slider which is at the left side. A microUSB connector is located at the center (bottom) Right towards the left hand side where users will get an S Pen area. The rear cover is made of plastic it got all the access and good built for users who can insert SIM car, microSD card and can even remove its 2,500 mAh battery whenever required.
Software and its unique S Pen:
First of all, you cannot call it just a stylus, as Samsung has created a unique pen which is named as S Pen. Remove the S Pen from its place and start designing or tapping over the screen and you’ll enjoy taking notes on your Note. The pen looks attractive, especially due to its amazing longer and broader design which perfectly fits in your fingers. Just hold the S Pen and start swiping over the screen and the display will show you how smooth and responsive it is. The best part is that the pen can vary in sizes, styles and colors to run in different apps effectively. So, enjoy the choices you get from Samsung Galaxy Note.
A wide range of unique apps have been designed by manufacturer so that users can be able to enjoy all the advantages of this newly designed S Pen. Apart from this, Hello Crayon is also available in the phone, specifically for children who can create colourful sketches with the help of markers and crayons. In this range, Hello Color Pencil is also much more similar with a choice of colors and options including another option as Hello Chalk.
When it comes to software, the Note has received Android Gingerbread which is quite disappointing for me. I checked a review on this phone where it was written that it could have been far better if the Ice Cream Sandwich would have been the OS in Note. Well, we should think about it. Imaging what is the use of this phone with such unique S Pen. This pen can function much more effectively if the OS is the Ice Cream Sandwich and not the lower version, 2.3.5 Gingerbread.
The Galaxy Note supports HSPA with 21 Mbps + 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz. Besides this, with the presence of EDGE, LTE and GPRS giving 900, 1800, 1900MHz, the Note has become a mind blowing mobile phone. Performance-wise, the phone runs pretty smoothly and does not stammers while operating certain app. The phone is powered by a 1.4 GHz dual core processor (Samsung Exynos). This processor is a pride for Samsung as it works very actively. The Note is equipped with a full suite of sensors which also comprises compass, barometer and accelerometer. The proximity and light are the other features that the phone offers. Moreover, the Note also offers A-GPS as well as GLONASS features for improved positioning.
As the Note represents both tablet and phone, you can wonder what this phone can offer. Already, the phone has created benchmarks for itself through its S Pen and faster processor without any lag. Its camera is also very powerful no matter it boasts just 8 megapixels or more which is opted by many phones in the market. The major point with which this Note can compete in the market is its S Pen and creating note.
The battery life of this phone is literally phenomenal and performs enormously. The phone can run continuously from full charge for 9 hours and 36 minutes. The Samsung Galaxy Note is amongst those devices which will either get enormous affection from users or total negligence. The company has created one of the largest phones in the market, but it cannot be said as the best phone that can beat any high-end smartphones. Note has also achieved fascinating high-resolution display, just similar to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Tab.
