Samsung’s Galaxy range has been gaining popularity; following its popular range of Corby devices, the manufacture has now grabbed eyeballs with its latest Android-based smartphone is the I5801. Also known as Samsung Galaxy 3 is a lower end Android-based smartphone and would give a tough competition for budget smartphones such as Spice Mi-300.
Design :
The design of the handset is chunky and is very comfortable to hold. However not many people would be happy with its look. The phone looks quite bulky and plain, and we all know that the manufacturer has a better fashion sense. The chrome finish of the device gives a feel of a mirror. It has 3.2-inches display, which boosts a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. Hence, making it quite difficult to view in bright sunlight.
Processor :
Galaxy 3 is powered with a dual-core 1.8 GHz processor, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM. The device operates on Android 2.2 Froyo version.
Memory :
Galaxy 3 has an internal storage is 170MB, where you can expand the memory by using a MicroSD card. An external micro SD card of 1GB has been included with the device. You can expand the memory of the device up to 32GB.
Camera :
The device is packed with a primary camera of 3.2 mega pixels, which boosts a resolution of 640×480 pixels. It offers features such as digital zoom and auto-focus.

Pros :
Samsung Galaxy 3 is packed with a larger 3.2 inches WQVGA display, which is quite decent and clear. It has a faster processor and comes with a better camera. The smartphone features an excellent execution of Pinch to zoom.
Cons :
The smartphone has good megapixel camera, however it is not even half as good as it is supposed to be. The device lacks a led flash. The screen of the gadget is very glossy and looks similar to glass. It is very difficult to use it in sunlight. There are no changeable back covers.
The Verdict :
Luckily, these days android-powered devices have become affordable. Samsung’s Galaxy 3 is priced for Rs. 12,300 (MRP). However, the Galaxy 3 isn’t a great looking handset and sometimes works a bit slow. Yet the device provides various multimedia options and is definitely an ideal pick if you are looking for budget smartphone.
