HTC Titan Review : A Windows Phone 7.5 Smartphone
With the launch of so many devices, HTC windows smartphone has claimed its remarkable presence in the market with its all new, super slim phone called HTC Titan. We have picked up some of the significant points to offer you a quick look through the HTC Titan review. So read our full post and understand the value for you.
Hardware
We do have to consider the quality of Titan which cannot be overlooked at any given point. The solid handset once hold can be recognized. No doubt, the phone has got a large look with 13.5 x 70.7 x 9.9 mm with the weight of 160g. Without cluttering from the front and the back, this phone has received a 3.5mm headphone jack, a micro-USB port, front 1.3 megapixel camera, and 8 megapixels at the rear. Inside the phone, 1.5GHz single core processor which is 50 percent faster as compared to the other original HTC HD7. It is paired with the 512MB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. The connectivity is comprised of triband UMTS/HSPA with 14.4Mbps download capacity and 5.76Mbps uploads. Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR is also available. The other features include gyroscope, GPS, G-sensor, proximity, digital compass, and ambient light.
Performance and Software
The HTC Titan functions on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. It is the latest update of Microsoft for its smartphone OS. Considering the modifications and tweaks, this phone has got limited features than its Android range. HTC Hun is all the users get to experience. Weather animations, stock updates, news and some app downloads come with HTC Titan. Preloaded features include Locations, Notes, Connected Media, Photo Enhancer and HTC Watch. There are not much upgradation in this new phone, but Twitter and Facebook are the appealing features for the consumers.
Sound and Battery
The speakerphone is clear, loud and impressive. The earpiece does not disappoint even at the booming level. On the other hand, Titan seems to disguise its weakness of Wi-Fi on the same wireless network. However, it doesn’t give problem maintaining the connection. It enables its users to view up to 410 minutes 3G talktime/up to 710-minute GSM or up to 460-hour 3G standby/up to 360-hour GSM. All can be done at a single charge of its replaceable 1600mAh battery. Its long lasting battery runs for the entire day without giving a single warning while you run internet, push email, voice calls, viewing photographs and Bing Maps throughout the day.
Display
Titan is amongst the best while considering the size of the display. Its 4.7 inches Super LCD panel tough-glass is a great feature to consider. Besides, it is the largest tough glass what the HTC Windows smartphone handset has ever received. This makes the Titan, the biggest phone in the market that runs on the Microsoft platform. Its bright screen seems very decent with good viewing angles and colors, but the resolution is the actual disappointment. This Windows Phone limits its support to WVGA at present which restricts the resolution of the display at 800 x 480.
Good features
- HD7 is the best feature that gives good experience for hands-free viewing
- The latest version from Mango is the best feature in HTC family
- It houses a faster processor of 1.5GHz similar to the Radar’s 1GHz chip
- 4.7 inches big LCD touchscreen display
- 512MB RAM and 16GB internal storage memory, but its actual storage may be available to somewhat 12.6GB as Windows Phone will occupy the rest of the memory
Missing features
- The phone lacks NFC feature, which means, as of now there is no Windows Phone support
- No FM radio
- No 1080p Full HD video recording
- 8MP camera is limited by processor and software
- Titan seems reluctant to display a powerful Wi-Fi signal as Android devices on the same wireless network
