HTC One X Smartphone Review

HTC has finally launched its latest Android-based smartphone in the World mobile congress 2012 in Barcelona. HTC One X is packed with the high-quality camera. Earlier, the smartphone was promoted as HTC Edge and HTC Endeavor. The new handset boosts a large 4.7-inch touch screen display and is powered by Quad-core processor as well as NFC capability.

Display :

HTC One X boosts elegant dimensions 134.4 mm x 69.9 mm x 9.3 mm. The smartphone weighs around 130 gm. It has a 4.7 inches wide capacitive touchscreen display, which is accentuated by 16M colors. The smartphone flaunts a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, which is pretty decent.

Network:

HTC One X supports 2G with GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, while 3G is supported as HSDPA 850 / 900/2100.

There are rumors that the smartphone has an internal storage capacity of 32GB storage, while it features1 GB RAM. One of the most disappointing features of the smartphone is that it doesn’t provide a microSD card slot.

HTC One X is operated on the latest platform Android 4.0 version Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The smartphone is supported Quad-core 1.5 GHz processor and Nvidia Tegra 3.

Camera :

HTC One X boosts an 8 mega pixels primary camera, which is focused with a resolution of 3264×2448 pixels. The camera offers amazing features such as face detection, Geo-tagging, LED flash and autofocus. One of the major highlights of the mobilephone is its video, which boosts a configuration of 1080p. The smartphone has secondary VGA camera as well.

The latest HTC smartphone sports both GPRS and EDGE, which provides high speed connectivity. HTC One X is packed with HSDPA upto 21 Mbps and HSUPA upto 5.76 Mbps connectivity options. The smartphone boosts WLAN and is supported by DLNA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot. You can easily transfer the data from the smartphone by using Bluetooth as v3.0 and microUSB v2.0.

Price :

This device is only sold currently by an online retailer Handyshop.de and promises to make it available to the consumers in 2-3 weeks with a price tag set at €599 ($780 unlocked). Pros :

HTC One X has a thin body, which measures less than 9.5mm. The smartphone boosts a big touchscreen display. It supports fast mobile data (4G) as well. The pixel density of the screen is extremely high and is more than 300ppi (312 ppi). The smartphone boosts high-resolution display of 720 x 1280 pixels. It has a fast processor of 1500 MHz and sufficient RAM of 1024 MB RAM. One of the most attractive features of the smartphone is its high-resolution camera of 8 mega pixels. You can connect the smartphone directly to the television set by using a HDMI connector.

Cons :

HTC One X does not provide a microSD slot for additional storage expansion. Moreover, the smartphone has limited colors of notifications LED on the gadget. One of the major drawbacks of the smartphone is it supports microSIM cards only.

The Verdict :

HTC One X is an impressive smartphone. With large and bright screen and new and punchy UI looks, the device is noticeably better than its predecessors. The gadget has excellent build quality and finish. HTC One X is all set to give a strong comparison to Samsung Galaxy S2 and Apple iPhone 4S.

The most interesting news is that when this smartphone will land in the U.S. on AT&T, it would be packed with Qualcomm’s S4 Snapdragon processor rather than what the European market is receiving, Tegra 3-LTE configuration.
