Now you can read and understand whether this smartphone which we have reviewed – HTC Windows Phone 8X review will give you insight on whether or not you should crave for this phone or should stop having a strong desire for it. So, read on to know more about this smartphone.
Design and Display :
HTC Windows Phone 8X smartphone has got bigger 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 Touchscreen with Gorilla Glass protection, giving complete pleasure to watch videos and pictures. The phone also supports 720p HD resolution and sports Gorilla Glass 2 screen. The first glance that we have experienced while exploring this phone is its sleek body and mate finish color range. The phone gets all those attractive points that make its design awe-inspiring. The phone has got iconic design that keeps you motivated.
This is the new flagship mobile of HTC that has given its consumers a change from Google’s Android to Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 handsets. The 8X Windows Phone reminds us of Nokia Lumia 900 and Lumia 910, but unlike other devices it is designed with impressive colors, reflects tile based appearance. The phone is 10.12 mm slim and looks slimmer that serve well in the current market. The phone comes with three color choices for UK consumers – Black, Blue and Yellow. On the other hand, Americans will get a Red option as well. Default home page comes with same color on all devices which you can change manually as per your requirement. The dimensions are 132.35 mm x 66.2 mm x 10.12 mm.
As mentioned earlier, the phone sports 4.3-inch screen which is smaller than 4.7-inch display on HTC One X. Still, with the 4.3 inches screen is abundant to offer you amazing experience with the new OS. The screen features 1280 by 720 pixel resolution with 341 ppi which is no doubt a decent choice. But, it will disappoint you if you compare its 720p screen with iPhone 5’s Retina display.
The 8X deploys same camera technology like the HTC One S and HTC One X and is equipped with an 8 megapixel primary camera that gives amazing snap-shots and video recording capabilities. To make the calling more appealing, HTC has equipped this phone with a front facing 2.1 megapixel camera which is high resolution if we consider other high end devices which at the max come with 1.5 megapixel camera. The secondary camera lets you capture videos at 1080p resolution, really a great thing!
Other than this, the 8X also features Beats audio sound which makes this phone one of the best in terms of sound quality. What is more interesting is the integration of two new amps where one is dedicated to audio output and other one is speaker that provides extra power.
This smartphone also comes with 16 GB internal memory which is more than enough for many users. The programs get support from 1GB RAM. However, if you have plenty of apps and other files to save then this might seem less. If you are up to saving lots of video and music then you should first know that this device does not support any microSD card slot, so only 16 GB is the option.
For connectivity, the phone uses 3G and Wi-Fi. In fact, this Windows Phone 8X also supports NFC unlike the latest iPhone 5. The phone also comes with standard connectivity features such as GPS with A-GPS support, DLNA, Bluetooth, and FM radio.
Now coming to power, the phone runs on Qualcomm S4 dual-core processor that clocks at 1.5 GHz. Though we are not sure about the performance as we got very little time to explore the phone inside out, but all we can say is that this phone at least won’t lag or provide slower performance.
One more important feature that consumers check before buying is the battery and 8X is again superior in this matter as it features a powerful 1,800 mAh battery. Though this phone bears powerful battery, but it is not as capable as the Samsung Ativ S, another competitor with Windows 8 Phone.
When it comes to sensors, all advanced sensors are loaded to this smartphone which comprise ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, digital compass, and G-Sensor.
Price and Availability :
Still there is no word for HTC 8X price, but it will launch with Windows Phone 8 operating system somewhere in October or November. The phone will launch along with its brother HTC 8S which is more affordable than this smartphone. The 8X will be available for T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T carriers.
HTC 8X is an impressive Windows Phone device and those who seek for beautiful design, aesthetic feel, sleek body, and better features then this would be an ideal choice. It cannot challeng Apple’s devices, but it somewhere seems to have gained power over iPhone 5. The phone gets powerful specs, more specifically camera that is one of its kind and goes hand-in-hand with improved Beats audio system.
